Susan Wood

Susan Wood plays the heroic “Cathy Stevens” who almost single-handedly runs a dog orphanage outside the city limits of Doverville. Nick-named the “Dog Lady”, her charges are threatened by the “no dogs” law implemented by the Mayor and Town Council. It is a dramatic role for an actress best known for musical comedy on-stage and situation comedy on television. Wood starred on Broadway as “Sandy” in the revival of Grease with Rosie O’Donnell and can be heard on the cast album of the same. She has dozens of off-Broadway, regional and touring stage credits. Wood received an L.A. Ovation nomination for her role as “Evelyn Nesbit” in the production of Ragtime at the Schubert Theater. She was a series regular on The Jamie Foxx Show where she played the role of “Cameron Caldwell”, the GPS girl. Other television credits include guest starring roles on Jake in Progress, Frasier, The Geena Davis Show, and many others. Wood was also the singing voice of Xena’s side-kick Gabrielle on Xena: Warrior Princess. Wood’s most recent production was the birth of a daughter in 2005.
